Mikao Usui developed Reiki in the early 1900s, deriving the term from the Japanese words rei, meaning “universal,” and ki, which refers to the "life force energy" that flows through all living things.
Reiki aids in healing by helping people become energetically balanced physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to the body, improving the flow and balance of energy to support healing. Reiki practitioners hover their hands, or use gentle touch on the client's body, focusing on balancing the seven main chakras. Our chakras are energy centers. When our chakras are out of alignment we can feel confused, stagnant, and unmotivated. Reiki can help to align those chakras, so we feel more grounded.
Distance healing is a spiritual practice. It comes through a form of energy that moves beyond time, space and sight, without the practitioner’s immediate contact with the client. The practitioner sets an intention for this healing to reach the individual. We all have access to the life force energy, otherwise known as our chi, qi, or prana, that flows through each and every living being. Distance Reiki is one of many ways to link to and channel this energy, for the healing benefit of others. The profound effects of distant healing can help with depression, anxiety, confidence, physical pain, and much more. One can feel clearer and more rejuvenated in their mind, body, and spirit. Over many centuries, people have experienced a deep sense of hope, peace, calm, and interconnectedness, as a result of distance healing.
Reiki treatment should not be used as a substitute for the consultation of a physician or a psychologist.
Reiki complements other types of medical and therapeutic treatments, and it can increase the effectiveness of other types of healing.
